Spring = Field Work!

So I don't know if anyone really reads this much anymore since I haven't been posting frequently, but I thought I give a brief update about what's coming up for me this spring.
I've got my thesis research project sorted out mostly and I'm gearing up (literally) these next two weeks to begin one heck of a field season. Spring a has started here in Maine (finally) and that means I need to get out in the lakes and stream and start running my experiments!!!
Basically, I'm going to be studying how alewives (a sea-run fish) influence the amounts of nitrogen and phosphorous available to algae in lakes and their outlet streams.

Needless to say, since this is also the last month of school, life is a bit insane, but since field work is was I absolutely LOVE about ecology and environmental science work, I can't wait to get my feet wet (or not if my waders do their job...).
I'll try to get some pictures of me doing some field work to post here!

(p.s. And just to make everyone jealous, half of my field sites are out on Mount Desert Island, you know, where Acadia National Park is!)
